Keep asking

I know that there are things that even as a believer I struggle with. Things that people cannot know. Things that I don't know. I have tried talking to people to counselors and the answer is always the same, there's something wrong, but only God knows. Keep searching. Anyone out there who bothers to look at this kind of thing is interested. Otherwise there is not much point to writing these things. Life seems to go on despite our ability or inability to cope.

Sometimes I think that I wish, I wish that we were simpler, having less and needing less.

That is the key.

Having time to recreate the thing that God meant for you.

This is a library page...

Somewhere I heard that libraries are going to disappear...I think that people are going to get more curious, but that they will instigate their own searching and stop searching when they are satisfied. I think that if you are elite you should not be in library science.

this is what your sovereign lord say

from the cup my wrath you will never drink again

and you made your back like the ground

like a street to be walked over

Ask and you shall receive

I am gathering statistics and it is a phenomenon for me. You need to get permissions for everything and it is necessary to guard your statistics and administration on a lot of the products that the institution uses.

But I also noted that there are products that have not incorporated a clear and easy ways to gather statistics!

I think that there should be a company outsourcing the need for libraries to have statistics. They would be instantly successful.

Especially with the medium to little institutions, we need a vendor that is industry savvy and technical enough to partner with the software developers to give librarians what they want. And I think that if we were to create a list of five for product development.

btw I found one company CollegeSource that made it very easy to id for the collection of stats. The #####id for view of statistics is a brilliant idea. (KEEP IT SIMPLE SILLY) I want to let everyone know that there is a product out there that is not trying to make statistical searching difficult, they CollegeSource are making it easy.

What I want as a library technical support staff is the "FOLLOWING FIVE"

CLEAR LINKING OPTIONS ON THE PRODUCT PAGE TO ADMINISTRATIVE VIEWS OF STATISTICS. (DON'T HIDE THE PATHS FOR ADMIN VIEWS OF THESE)

SEARCH COUNTS THAT ARE LABELED SEARCH COUNTS (NOT QUERIES AND NOT HITS)

SEARCH COUNTS THAT ARE COUNTER COMPLIANT (COUNTS THAT FOLLOW A KNOW AND ACCEPTED STANDARD IN THE EXISTING CONTEXT OF ONLINE STATISTICS)

SEARCH COUNTS ON DEMAND (THIS IS KEY FOR INSTANT ACCESS AND ASSESSMENT OF PRODUCT USE)

SCHEDULING THAT IS PASSIVE UPON DEMAND, LIBRARIES NEED TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THESE SEARCH STATISTICS DELIVERED PASSIVLEY UPON ONE TIME SETUP FOR INTERNAL STATISTICS WHICH ARE PRODUCT ASSESSMENT AT THE USER LEVEL.
